HFC Experience

2002 - 2004

Liberty Cablevision of PR. Approximately 2,300 miles. Drop-in upgrade of amplifier and line-extender modules, including return modules and activation. Existing actives, passives and cable was used. Return activation was done with return carrier generators. Fiber Optic cable run to nodes. Node Size approximately 2,000 homes passed with over 300 Power Supplies installed and activated.

2008 - 2011

Choice Cable. Upgrade in South and West areas of Puerto Rico. Approximately 4,500 miles of Plant. Fiber Optic cable run to nodes Approximately 600 homes passed. Total rebalance of all actives and approximately 700 nodes. Started drop-in upgrade October 2010 to upgrade actives to 750MHz. Change passives and cable that couldn’t pass signal to 750MHz. Over 250 Power Supplies installed and activated.

PrepaNet Fiber plant extensions for the broadband network in the greater Puerto Rico to include Vieques.

2000 - 2001

Rebuild and upgrade of Framingham and Leominster, Mass., for Cablevision. Approximately 600 miles. On this upgrade all coaxial cable was replaced. Fiber Optic cable ran to nodes and nodes (optical receiver) installed, new cable activated and then drops swapped. Old cable then wrecked out. Node size approximately 300 homes.

1997-1999

HFC Upgrade (Retrofit) of Indianapolis, Indiana for Time Warner Cable. Approximately 2,500 miles.

1994-1996

HFC Upgrade (Retrofit),Charlotte, NC. for Time Warner Cable. Approximately 3,000 miles. Complete change-out of all passives and actives using existing coax cable. Fiber Optic Cable to nodes (600 homes). Complete change of nodes (up to 250 locations). All drops swapped, system activated and 24 hrs. standby on all service calls in node area.

HFC Upgrade (Retrofit) Cincinnati, Ohio for Time Warner Cable. Approximately 4,000 miles.

1996 - 2000

BCG VI currently has people and equipment in the USVI. We have trained aerial and underground crews for coax, fiber splicers and activators ready to go for both St. Thomas and St. Croix. BCG VI also has the proven experience to move these resources into the USVI quickly. BCG VI has currently employed 30+ local residents to train along with our experienced techs to maintain a local work force.
